Update Ubuntu distro using the command line

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

  1. I dit it and got:

    Reading package lists… done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading State information… Done
    Calculating upgrade… Done
    0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded

    And I had just installed 7.10 the other day from a 2007 CD. There must updates.
    The update manager also doesn’t work. Browser and email work just fine. Add/Remove
    doesn’t work for add; remove works. What’s wrong?
